Which Dog?
A raincoat can be a welcome addition for both the dog and the owner. In autumn and winter, a wet coat dries slowly, causing the dog to cool down more quickly. Moreover, a damp dog coat often carries unpleasant odors and leaves wet spots where the dog rests, such as the bed, carpet, or even the sofa. A raincoat helps to largely prevent this.
Although a raincoat is often considered the more practical choice, a warm coat may also be essential in some cases. Larger dogs with thick coats are generally well-protected against the cold, but the importance of extra warmth is often underestimated for other dogs. Consider the following:
