Sustainable success: Beco takes over the shelves at Welkoop
How do you ensure that a sustainable brand is not only introduced but also truly makes an impact? Warmako and Welkoop joined forces to give Beco, an innovative and eco-friendly pet brand, a prominent place in the assortment. With a well-thought-out strategy, close collaboration, and targeted support, Beco has now become an integral part of Welkoop stores. And that did not go unnoticed: this successful launch was honored with the prestigious Golden Apple Award in 2024.
Customer Case: Successful Introduction of Beco at Welkoop
Welkoop, founded in 1899 as an agricultural cooperative, has grown into a leading Dutch retailer with over 160 stores, specializing in garden and pet products. Sustainability is a core value in their operations. Warmako, a trusted supplier of Welkoop for many years, saw an opportunity to introduce the sustainable brand Beco, known for its eco-friendly pet products, into the Welkoop assortment.
Approach
To successfully launch Beco at Welkoop, we followed a strategic approach:
- Shelf Analysis: Together with Welkoop, we evaluated the current pet accessory shelf and identified opportunities for sustainable alternatives.
- Concept Presentation: With support from Beco, we proposed an attractive and sustainable shelf concept, including a detailed action plan to ensure a strong start for the products.
- Training and Support: Our sales team visited various Welkoop stores to introduce the Beco brand and train sales staff, ensuring they could effectively inform customers about the sustainable benefits of the products.
Result
Thanks to these joint efforts, Beco poop bags are now available in all Welkoop stores, contributing to the sustainable image of both Welkoop and Warmako. As recognition of our successful collaboration and contribution to Welkoop’s success, we received the prestigious Golden Apple Award during the Welkoop Supplier Day in 2024.
