Ticks can transmit dangerous pathogens. Therefore, they should be removed as soon as possible after the bite with our bogaclean® TICK-OFF tick hook.

Do not apply oil, nail polish or other liquids to the tick before the tick is removed, otherwise the tick can release dangerous pathogens into the bloodstream due to a stress reaction. After the tick removal, disinfect the puncture site. Place the removed tick in a folded piece of paper and crush with a firm object. The flushing down in cast/toilet does not kill the tick. Ticks are survivalists, even underwater.
